Campaigning

We campaign to improve prostate cancer health care services because we believe that people affected by prostate cancer should receive the highest standards of treatment and care wherever they live.

Take action and improve prostate cancer care in your area

A diagnosis of prostate cancer and the side effects of treatment for the disease can have a huge impact on men and their families. Having access to support services designed to help men cope with these effects can make a real difference and ensure that men are able to lead as normal a life as possible.

During Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, The Prostate Cancer Charity will be raising awareness of the need for improvements to local support services for men with prostate cancer.

Join us on the 19th March and take action to ensure that these important services are available for men in your area. Find out more about how to get involved and take action.

Support the Hampered by Hormones? campaign

Hormone therapy is a common treatment for prostate cancer. The side effects associated with hormone therapy can have a significant impact on the lives of men and their partners. Unfortunately, many men receive too little information and support to help them cope with the impact of the side effects of hormone therapy. The partners of men also need better information and support to help them cope with the effect the treatment has on their lives.

The Charity has launched the Hampered by Hormones? campaign to highlight the experience of men (and the partners of men) who receive the treatment and call on Government and the NHS to improve the standard of care available. Find out more about the campaign and how you can support it.

What we think

We are developing a series of policy positions which set out what we think about key prostate cancer related issues. These positions are used in our campaigning work with Government and policy makers and to respond to relevant Government or NHS consultations on cancer, health, or social care policy. Read our existing policy positions and our responses to consultations.

Have your voice heard

The ElliotsListening to the experiences of people affected by prostate cancer helps ensure we campaign on the issues that matter to you. We are currently developing new ways for you to let us know about your experiences of prostate cancer services and the improvements you would like to see. Visit our new tell us what you think section to give us your views on key prostate cancer issues through our comment forms or online surveys. Your views will be used to inform the development of our campaigning activities.

Prostate Cancer Voices

Smiling ManProstate Cancer Voices is a network of people affected by prostate cancer. The Charity uses their knowledge and experiences to inform the development of our support services. Campaigning in partnership

We are a member of a number of campaigning coalitions. Working in partnership with other organisations extends the range of issues we are able to campaign on and enables us to work on common areas of concern, creating a stronger voice.
