    Maxine Stockwell who organised a Rock n Roll evening in April to raise money for the Charity. The evening was a huge success and they raised £200 for the Charity. A huge thank you to Maxine and everyone who was involved.

  • Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Celebration Dinner London

    All the guests who attended the Prostate Cancer Awareness Month celebration dinner on Thursday 22nd March.  The annual flagship event took place at Grange St Paul's Hotel this year where guests attended a champagne drinks reception followed by a three course meal. Supporters all over the country have been working hard to fundraise throughout March. A short film about one particular team of fundraisers, the M&S Prostate Marksmen, was shown during the evening which showed insights into their gruelling trip rowing the Atlantic. Key speakers on the night included Neil Fox and Baroness Royall who both told stories of how prostate cancer hit them 'Out of the Blue' and why they actively support the Charity. Owen Sharp, CEO, then updated guests on future plans and challenges the Charity face, as well as thanking guests for their ongoing support. The dinner was hosted by Global Radio's Susan Bookbinder.

    All the guests who attended the Prostate Cancer Awareness Month celebration dinner in Scotland on Thursday 29th March at the Grand Central Hotel. The event revolved around the awareness theme, Out of the Blue, and was attended by key supporters of The Prostate Cancer Charity. Guests heard from Owen Sharp, CEO, who spoke of the year's successes in Scotland and the future plans of the Charity. Supporters also viewed a short film presenting the stories of men affected by prostate cancer and how they had utilised the Charity for information and support. The highlight of the evening was most definitely the comedy provided by Fred MacAulay. Fred emphasised the importance of the cause having lost his own father to prostate cancer, yet kept the evening light-hearted by engaging guests with some extremely entertaining anecdotes. The dinner was hosted by BBC Scotland's Clare English.

    We would like to thank ...

    Alastair Gordon completed his cycle of 2012 miles around the county visiting as many sporting venues as he could. Alastair completed his challenge in 40 days and has raised a fantastic £10,000 for the Charity. A huge well done to Alastair for completing this amazing challenge and for raising such a great amount for the Charity!

    Sonia Nockels and everyone who took part in the Lidlington Music Showstopper. It looked like a fantastic evening and they raised £1,025 on the night so a huge thank you for all their hard work.

  • Out of the Blue Gala Party

    All the guests who attended The Out of the Blue Gala Party which took place on Thursday 8th March at Floridita, London. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception, 3 course meal, silent & live auction, as well entertainment from Tony Hadley and dancing until the small hours. This was the second party that was hosted in partnership with The Prostate Cancer Charity and M&S and everyone had a fantastic time. A host of celebrities joined us on the evening, including: Les Ferdinand, Mark Bright, Neil Fox and David Gandy. Neil delivered a moving speech on his experience of prostate cancer and how it affected him and his family.  

    The Gala Party raised over £40,000 which will allow the charity to continue to fight prostate cancer through research, support, information and campaigning.  

    We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the guests for their contribution on the evening and for fundraising for The Prostate Cancer Charity.

  • Rotary Club of Inverkeithing & Dalgety Bay

    Mr Housego and the Rotary Club of Inverkeithing & Dalgety Bay for raising £1,500 for the Charity by holding a prize draw in support of our work.  Well done to the winners and thanks to all at the Club for their support.

    Thank you to Neil Gray for choosing the charity during his year as seniors' captain of Hagley Golf Club.  He raised £1,216.00 - thank you to all the members that helped him raise this fantastic sum of money.

  • Challengers of the month

    Alastair Gordon
    We would like to thank Alastair Gordon and the Thomas Vale team: Adrian Kenny, Craig Shorter and Paul Barfoot

    Alastair Gordon is our challenger of the month as he is undertaking a fantastic challenge to raise money for the Charity. Alastair is going to cycle 2,012 miles around the UK and as if that wasn't enough he is planning to stop at over 60 major sporting venues along the way! Alastair is very kindly funding the trip himself so all the money he raises are coming directly to his chosen charities. Alastair has so far raised over £6,000 for us and is currently just completing day 14 in Carlisle. If you want to follow his progress visit http://alastair2012miles.moonfruit.com/

    The Thomas Vale team took the leap skydiving from 10,000 ft to raise money and awareness of prostate cancer during our Awareness Month in March. They have raised an amazing £3,700 so far, massively beating their targets. We are so grateful to them for their hard work and bravery.

    For their continued support, fantastic fundraising and awareness raising efforts Alastair Gordon and the Thomas Vale team:Adrian Kenny, Craig Shorter and Paul Barfoot are April's Challengers of the Month - Congratulations and thank you!

  • Runners of the month

    Stacey Andrews
    We would like to thank Stacey Andrews and Matt Ardin

    Stacey Andrews is taking part in a number of running events on behalf of The Prostate Cancer Charity. This year she has already done the Brighton, Reading and Silverstone half marathons as well as the Milton Keynes marathon and still has the Humber Bridge half marathon to do in June. Stacy has already raised a fantastic £394 for the charity and is an avid user of our Facebook page. Thank you to Stacey for all her support and we wish you the best of luck for your next run in June.   

    Matt Ardin took part in the Dronfield 10k before taking on his main challenge - the Greater Manchester Marathon on April 29th. Being part of a large Blue Runners team in the event, Matt wore our Charity top and has so far raised nearly £350. He has been updating everyone on Facebook with his progress and has one final event to complete this month, the Great Manchester Run. Thanks for the support and good luck!
