Real Man Cup – Wembley 13th March 2010
Congratulations to The Liberties who won the 2010 Real Man Cup and to The London Rebels who won the 2010 Real Man Plate.
27 teams took part in the 2010 Real Man Cup at Wembley Goals Soccer Centre and the level of football was really high this year. There were all the elements of a good day of football; controversial refereeing decisions, penalty shootouts and lots of competitiveness! Tottenham Hotspurs legend, Graham Roberts, brought the FA Cup with him and presented the trophies to the winners and runners-up.
Several people succeeded in the crossbar challenge and many more failed! There was also a raffle and auction on the day and so far we have raised over £8,400. Thank you to everyone that took part.
Here are the classified results
The Cup
It was a closely fought battle but in the end The Liberties held onto their title for the second year running. They won 4-0 in the final against the BHF team. Both keepers made some excellent saves and there was some nice back heels from one of the Liberties’ players – one very nearly resulted in a goal. John Oli, from BHF, was all over the pitch and despite his team losing he was voted the Player of the Tournament.

The Plate
The London Rebels beat Hammonds LLP 4-1 in the plate final. Both teams did really well after a slow start to the tournament.
