Dawn Walk

The Dawn Walk is a 10km walk that starts at dawn. Maureen Dixon organised the first Brighton Dawn Walk in September 2005, in memory of her husband who died of prostate cancer.

Maureen says: "After Mike's diagnosis I wanted to do something to help other men affected by the disease and to honour his memory. The Dawn Walk is a great way for me to help raise awareness and much needed funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity. It is my hope that in a few years walks will be taking place across the country and thousands will be walking for The Prostate Cancer Charity in September."

Inspired to walk – you could take part in the
Ben Nevis trek or The Three Peaks challenge

In 2006 there were 3 Dawn Walks which raised £11,807.72.

In Brighton Maureen Dickson organised her second Brighton Dawn Walk and had 100 walkers despite the torrential rain.

Geraldine Carter organised a walk in Warwickshire with bacon butties at the Church hall afterwards.

Maggie Dyer and The Rotary club of Tilehouse held their Dawn Walk around Little Offley House and farm, near Hitchin.

In 2007 the Rotary Club of Tilehouse will be organising another Dawn Walk on 2nd September and are hoping to have 300 participants.
