Frequently Asked Questions

Question Answer
Do you have any local offices? Currently we have an office in Glasgow. We do not have any other regional offices.
Can our money go to a local project? Unfortunately we only have a regional office in Glasgow but the money you raise will be used to help men and their families who are affected by prostate cancer across the whole of the United Kingdom.
Are you able to send a speaker to our meeting? We are able to give presentations about the work of the Charity but as we are based in London and Scotland it is not always possible for us to travel long distances. However, if you would like a speaker to attend a meeting then contact me and I will try to help.
Can you send a representative to collect a cheque? We will always try to send a representative whenever possible for donations over £1000. As we do not have regional offices it is not always possible but please contact me and I will see if I can help.
I would like to organise a club event for the Charity. How can you help? We can send you materials such as balloons, posters and leaflets and can advertise the event on our website. We can try to send a representative to the event if appropriate and give advice. Unfortunately we are not able to help with the organisation of the actual event.
We have collected some money for your Charity. Where should I send it? Please send it with your details to me at the address below. Please make cheques payable to The Prostate Cancer Charity.
Will you send an acknowledgement letter? We always send an acknowledgement letter if we have the contact details. Please let us know who to send the letter to. We will send a certificate for amounts over £500.
What will you spend our money on? Your money will be used to help fund support, information and research to help men and their families who are affected by prostate cancer. You can find more information about our spending in our annual review.
Why should we support your Charity? Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men. 35,000 men are diagnosed with it every year in the U.K. and 10,000 men die – that’s one man every hour. The Prostate Cancer Charity is the largest and most comprehensive of the charities working specifically in the field of prostate cancer.
