Fundraiser of the Month
Our fundraiser for the month of December is Michael Goldthorpe. After a challenging year Michael wanted to take on a real adventure – setting himself the challenge of climbing Everest! Unfortunately for Michael, logistics have prevented him from travelling to Nepal. So he has decided (against his better judgment I’m sure) to climb the equivalent height by ascending the Rock of Gibraltar a massive 21 times!
Michael is already well through his challenge with only a few more climbs to go. From all of the team here we would like to say a huge congratulations to Michael for his success so far and Good Luck for the last few climbs.

“At the beginning of this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Fortunately following successful treatment I am now well on the road to full recovery. During this journey I have received fantastic support from my wife, family, friends and colleagues.
As well as support from my family I wanted unbiased and first hand advice and a sounding board for the days when I was feeling a little down in the dumps. I found this from the information on The Prostate Cancer Charity web page and was helped tremendously by the many contributors to the forum.
I appreciate that assistance like this needs funding and so decided to do my bit to help keep this site up and running in order to help other people in a similar position. I chose the Gibraltar Challenge as it was a significant challenge which mirrored the uphill climb I had experienced following diagnosis. It was also a challenge which other people could join in with and in a small place like Gibraltar attract a large amount of interest. In addition to the climb friends have held raffles and quizzes".
