BBC Radio 4 Appeal
Throughout the first week of June BBC Radio 4 broadcast a charity appeal to its 2.4million listeners on behalf of The Prostate Cancer Charity.
The appeal aims to raise up to £25,000 to support the vital work of our Helpline nurses.
Radio 4 is available on 198 LW across the UK and 92.4-94.6 FM. You can also listen online or through DAB digital radio or digital TV.
We would like to thank Sir Ian McKellen who is going to present the appeal on behalf of The Prostate Cancer Charity. His personal experience of prostate cancer inspired him to help highlight an illness that is spoken about far too infrequently, despite the fact that 35,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with the disease each year.
For those of you who missed the appeal you can download a transcript of the recording.
Our Helpline was established in 1997 to provide support and information about prostate cancer and the treatments available for men and their families currently living with the disease. We are the only charity in the prostate cancer field to provide a free, confidential and specialist prostate cancer nurse-led Helpline service.
If you have any queries about the appeal please contact Fiona Pattison at
