UK Walks
If you are a keen walker, or are looking for an incentive to get fit then why not book a place on one of our UK walks? We have the following breathtaking Scottish walks to choose from.
Blue Boys Walk – 30th May 2010
Gerald Sims organised the first annual Blue Boys Walk on 31st May 2009. The walk was a 10 mile round trip to and from the Waterside rest Goytre Wharf via Folly Pontypool Park. The 80 walkers had beautiful weather and everyone enjoyed the day. There were various other fundraising events taking place over the weekend and around 1000 people attended.
As it was so successful he is doing it again on Sunday 30th May 2010. To take part or for more information contact Gerald Sims on 01633 864172 or by email: geraldsims@hotmail.co.uk.
Walk for a Reason
Walk for a reason is a fabulous event open to people of all ages and abilities even pets! This charming walk can be a fun day out for you and all your family.
In September 2008 Cyril Samsun organised a brand new walking event for The Prostate Cancer Charity. Cyril decided to name the event Walk for a Reason, and the event was such a success it has grown every year.
Cyril has organised this great event after being inspired by the success of the Moonwalk which raises funds for breast cancer. Cyril felt passionately that we should be doing something similar for men.
This great 10km walk is open to all. So invite your relatives, friends and colleagues to join you and help raise funds for men with prostate cancer.
All events for 2009 have passed but there are several walks planned for 2010 in Windsor, Reading and Wokingham. The first event is in Windsor on January 2nd, get fit, walk off the Christmas pud and raise money for charity! Or if you want to learn more about taking part or organising your own Walk for a Reason in your area please visit www.walkforareason.co.uk
Rebecca Standing organised a 5k walk for a reason in Mote Park in Kent on the 8th March. The event was well attended and event the sun came out. So far Rebecca has collected a fantastic £1,150!
