Menu Love - Father's Day Feast
Our brand new Menu Love Father’s Day Feast has been a huge success.
We have sent out over 300 Father’s day Feast packs to families across the UK and already raised over £1,000.
We hope that each family will organise a nutritious cancer-fighting meal at home in honour of Father’s Day and send donations to The Prostate Cancer Charity in the next few weeks.
We hope that the event will raise over £6,000 in total.
As part of our Father’s Day celebrations one of our supporters, Moira Sleeman organised a Father’s Day Feast at The Georgian House in Alderney:
Moira arranged for the Menu Love recipes to be created in one of the top restaurants on Alderney on Sunday 17th June to honour Father's Day. Liz Hope, proprietor of The Georgian House and her team created the special menus, and welcomed families and their friends in the restaurant and gardens to enjoy Nigella Lawson's Watermelon Daiquiris in the sun whilst listening to live jazz. People tucked into a variety of our tasty and nutritious recipes created by celebrity chefs including Mark Sargeant, Gordon Ramsay, Delia Smith and Nick Nairn and all cooked to perfection by The Georgian House team.
Moira and Liz organised a raffle and the sale of Charity pin badges, together with a collection box on the bar, as well as a sale of Menu Love recipe cards. The activities raised an amazing £230 in just three hours. John Ling who won the first raffle prize commented (see attached photo)
"I had the Father's Day Feast at The Georgian, and was so pleasantly surprised and I found it hard to believe such tasty food can be so good for you."
Other restaurant guests included a table of nine young men on a 'stag weekend' who knew nothing about their prostate gland, but learned quickly as the function of the prostate was explained to them. They dug deep into their pockets to support the cause as one of them spoke of his grandfather being affected.
A big thank you to Moira, Liz and everyone at The Georgian House for their support.
