The London Marathon 2007 - April 22nd

Charity runnerA BIG thank you to the 132 runners who took part in the 26.2 mile Flora London Marathon on Sunday in aid of The Prostate Cancer Charity.

Despite the hot and humid weather the runners all made it round in one piece. Our fastest runner was Simon James who finished in an incredibly speedy 2 hours 54 minutes.

Well done to everyone for finishing and thank you so much for your support.

The Prostate Cancer Charity’s team hopes to raise over £250,000 this year.

This year’s London Marathon was the biggest in the 27-year history of the event.

"It was a fantastic day and one I will never forget." Paul Garrat

"A big thanks to Gemma, Claire and Natasha, and all at PCC for your welcoming reception at the Victoria Thistle on Sunday. It made a huge difference to have a quiet place to meet family and friends and to get a massage! Your organisation of updates and materials has been great throughout. Knees are still aching but legs aren’t stiff anymore and, aside from a little post-marathon blues, I’m delighted to have taken part in such a great event in aid of the PCC. It would have made my Dad proud for sure." Stuart Paterson

"It was fab and seeing your cheering station on the way round was such a lift! All the runners for you guys were so friendly and it was great so see such great people running for the same charity." Bex Sanders-Hewitt

"Thank you for giving me the chance to run the London Marathon. It was such a fantastic day and everyone at The Prostate Cancer Charity made it even more special. Training for a year especially through the winter made every minute of the marathon worth it. I managed see so many Prostate runners on different parts of the route and everyone was very encouraging and it was great to see all the supporters too along the way." Robin Pope

A record 36,396 people started the marathon and 35,674 runners crossed the finish in the Mall, a London Marathon record by more than 400 people.
