House of Lords Lunch
On Wednesday 19th November the Earl Howe hosted a luncheon for some of the Charity’s supporters and researchers. Over 120 people gathered at the House of Lords to hear about the achievements of The Prostate Cancer Charity’s research programme and what this might mean to men with prostate cancer.
We were delighted that both Earl Howe and Dr Chris Parker were able to speak at the event. Dr Parker provided us with a fascinating insight into the challenges and opportunities facing those working in prostate cancer research, while Earl Howe offered his perspective on cancer issues and highlighted the importance of raising awareness of prostate cancer on a national level.
The event has received excellent feedback already and provided a unique opportunity for supporters and researchers to feel part of the Charity. Our thanks go out to Earl Howe for hosting this event.
De Botty Business
On Wednesday 5th March 2008, the new play by Benjamin Zephaniah specially commissioned by The Prostate Cancer Charity premiered at Hackney Empire. De Botty Business is a humorous take on the cultural myths fears and taboos surrounding prostate cancer in African Caribbean communities.
