Rickshaw Run

Tuk TukOn 1st June Craig Daniel and Mads Lilholt Kristensen will be embarking on The Rickshaw Run. It’s a 4500km journey from Kathmandu, Nepal to Pondicherry, Southeast India across some of the roughest terrain on a 145cc Tuk Tuk. They will encounter huge mountains, dirt tracks, tropical jungle and possibly monsoons with very little protection. This amazing challenge should take about two weeks – if in fact they manage to complete it.

Wedding Dress Ball: 27th September at The Gateshead Marriot Hotel

Wedding Dress BallOn 27th September Emma Sanderson, Sarah Young, Deborah Mahon and Lorraine are organising a wedding dress ball at the Gateshead Marriot hotel. During the event they will be holding a silent auction, raffle and a chapel of love where you can be 'married by Elvis'. The ball will be supporting The Prostate Cancer Charity and Disability Sports Events as these are causes close to the organiser’s hearts.

Wedding Dress BallThe Prostate Cancer charity was chosen as one of the beneficiaries as Sarah Young, one of the organisers, lost her uncle to the disease 1 ½ years ago and saw the way in which it affected him and her family over the course of his illness. As a group they felt that although people are aware of prostate cancer it is not given the attention that it needs.

An Antarctic adventure

Charlie Hunter, Cynan Rhodes and David O’Brien, aka the Bear Dodgers, are travelling, under their own steam, to and from the South Pole this November. They will be trekking from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and then kite skiing all the way back again. It’s a 1,500 mile round trip and will take them 3 months. The guys will be dragging all of their supplies, including their food, cooking equipment and tent with them – a total weight of around 8 stone per person!

The Bear Dodgers are raising money and awareness for The Prostate Cancer Charity (and Bowel Cancer UK) as Cynan and David both have family members who have had prostate cancer.

The Bear Dodgers prepare for the Antarctic adventure ahead.

Have your photo taken at the South Pole!

The Bear Dodgers have come up with an ingenious way to raise funds. Sponsor them and they will take your image, photo, or company logo all the way to the South Pole and return with a high resolution photo, which you can use however you like.

Visit their website: www.beardodgers.com for further details of their expedition and to upload your picture.

The Male Grooming Company

The Male Grooming CompanyAffirming its commitment to supporting men’s health issues, The Male Grooming Company will donate £1 to the charity with every order placed over £50.

Donna Maisey, the founder, said: "The Male Grooming Company is not just about skin care and grooming, it’s about total body wellness. Men often put their health and wellbeing last and one of the main reasons for the rising incidence in male health issues is a lack of awareness. We need to ensure that men are aware of these issues and feel confident to take steps to ensure they seek help when they need it."
