The Georgian House Father's Day Feast

Georgian House menuThe Father's Day Feast proved a great success in raising awareness, promoting healthy eating and generating some funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity. Moira Sleeman arranged for the Menu Love recipes to be created in one of the top restaurants on Alderney on Sunday 17th June to honour Father's Day.

Liz Hope, proprietor of The Georgian House and her team created the special menus, and welcomed families and their friends in the restaurant and gardens to enjoy Nigella's Watermelon Daiquiris in the sun whilst listening to live jazz. People tucked into a variety of tasty and nutritious celebrity chef recipes all created by The Georgian House team.

Georgian House menuMoira and Liz organised a raffle and the sale of Charity pin badges, together with a collection box on the bar, and sale of Menu Love recipe cards, and raised an amazing £230 in three hours over lunch time. John Ling who won the first raffle prize commented (see attached photo)

Georgian House menu"I had the Father's Day Feast at The Georgian, and was so pleasantly surprised and I found it hard to believe such tasty food can be so good for you"

Other restaurant guests included a table of nine young men on a 'stag weekend' who knew nothing about their prostate gland, and quickly learnt as the function of the prostate was explained to them. They dug deep into their pockets to support the cause as one of them spoke of his grandfather being affected.
