The Prostate Cancer Charity and Keyline Builders Merchants are paving the way for fundraising success
The Prostate Cancer Charity and Keyline Builders Merchants have joined together in partnership to lay the foundations for a successful fundraising partnership over the next two years - starting with Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
The Charity has been selected by Keyline as it's Charity Of The Year for 2010 and 2011 and the well-known specialist in heavy building materials, civils and drainage solutions
will be holding a host of events throughout the year including sponsored walks, family fun days and even a dip in Loch Ness, all designed to raise vital funds and awareness.
The Charity's annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in March, will help Keyline to kick start their fundraising efforts with the Charity's Blue Man pin badges available in Keyline branches across the country, with each of the company’s 82 depots and six regional sales offices aiming to raise a minimum of £300 each from their customers and staff.
The Prostate Cancer Charity's Head of Partnerships, Anna Borrini, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as Keyline Builders Merchants Charity Of The Year not just in 2010 but in 2011. This extended partnership shows a real commitment from Keyline Builders Merchants to help make their staff and customers more aware of the most common cancer in men. As we all know the building industry tends to attract a large number of men, the partnership seems like a perfect match. Keyline Builders Merchants are really getting in to the spirit and are throwing themselves in to a variety of activities to support the vital work of The Prostate Cancer Charity. We are looking forward to working closely with Keyline Builders Merchants over the next two years."

Thousands of individuals and groups across the UK will support the awareness month by staging awareness events, holding a Day of Action on Friday 19 March, signing up to a five-a-side football tournament or taking part in a brand new fundraising initiative, Do Blue Day. Whether people encourage their colleagues to wear a sea of blue to work, jump into a bath full of turquoise jelly or cook up a storm with blue-themed foods, they will be raising funds, and critical awareness of the disease.
