On 16th July The Prostate Cancer Charity, in partnership with the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and the Prostate Cancer Charter for Action delivered an afternoon conference on prostate cancer as part of the RSM’s ‘Medicine and Me’ series.
The Conference was attended by nearly 200 people affected by prostate cancer and health professionals and focused on the current status of research into treatments for prostate cancer and access to clinical trials.
For further information on clinical trials, please read our factsheet: “A Guide to prostate cancer clinical trials”.
Following an introduction by Dr Chris Parker of The Institute of Cancer Research, the afternoon was split into three sessions, two of which dealt with different stages of prostate cancer, with the third session reviewing the possible beneficial effect of diet and complementary therapies.
