What We Do

Besides our three core objectives - providing support and information, and funding research - and the necessary fundraising activities we engage in to support these aims, we also run a series of activities around the UK.

The best way to get an overview of all our activities is to read our 2006/2007 Annual Review, available as web pages or as a PDF. We also host archived PDFs of Annual Reviews for the last few years.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Week is an annual health awareness campaign organised by The Prostate Cancer Charity. It aims to raise the profile of prostate cancer among the public and in the media. Find out how you can get involved in Awareness Week 2008.

Our annual National Conference is a large event designed to raise awareness among health professionals of new treatments and latest developments.

The Charity has launched new services in Scotland, to provide support to people affected by prostate cancer, and raise awareness of the disease.

African Caribbean men are almost three times as likely to develop prostate cancer as white men. The Charity works with African Caribbean communities to raise awareness amongst this hard-to-reach group of men.

The Charity works with health professionals who care for men with prostate cancer around the UK. Our Specialist Nurse programme placed nurses in NHS Trusts to improve practice at a local level, and the success of this programme is currently being evaluated.
