Trustees and Patrons

Jude Bridge

Jude was, until recently, Director of Marketing Communications for Marks and Spencer Plc. She joined the Prostate Cancer Charity board as a trustee in 2002. As part of a move to strengthen the range of talent on the Charity’s Board, Jude was asked to stand for election because of the unique skills, experiences and perspectives she could offer the organisation.

Having developed a successful career in marketing, Jude is well placed to advise us on the best way to get key messages across to men and their families – for example, what prostate cancer is, who’s at risk and how men can protect themselves from the disease.

Jude tells us, in her own words, what it means to be involved with The Prostate Cancer Charity:

“My own parents both died of cancer, so when I was first approached by The Prostate Cancer Charity, I was keen to help in whatever way I could. Of course, what struck me straight away was how little I knew about prostate cancer. When I learnt that it affects as many as one in thirteen men, I was shocked. I had no idea how prevalent the disease was; and as a wife and mother of a son and two daughters, I really felt I should know….

The work of the charity in raising awareness is vital. With my background in marketing communications I am very aware of how important it is to use all available media and to ensure that the key messages are clear and relevant. We have made great strides over the last few years but there is still a lot of work to be done and we cannot afford to let the fight against prostate cancer slip off the health agenda. I am really proud to be associated with the charity and its fantastically committed team. I hope that I can make a positive and lasting contribution to the fight against the disease.”
