Michael Price
Mike was born in England some 61 years ago, although he has spent most of his working life in Jersey. He recently retired as Managing Director of Trustee Services for Close Wealth Management (part of the Close Brothers Group), but remains on the board as non-executive Chairman.
Before joining Close he was Group Head of Trust for SG Hambros and and a director of SG Hambros Private Bank. Additionally Mike has worked for the Royal Bank of Canada and lectured extensively on Trust related issues in Europe and North America.
He is currently a non-executive director of Enhance Investments Limited and is a board member for Gracechurch Street Capital Limited.
Mike was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2004 and underwent a radical prostatectomy under the expert surgery of Professor Roger Kirby. Early detection as a result of a simple blood test meant that the cancer was contained within the prostate and therefore removed during the operation. Subsequent monitoring has confirmed the success of the surgery.
Married with four adult children, Mike enjoys sailing with his wife along the French Atlantic coast and tinkering with an MG TC that’s exactly the same age as himself.
